Sky Series (2024-2025)

The Sky Series by Karolina Dema explores the sky as a passage between worlds, capturing its fleeting, ever-changing nature. This body of work merges two interconnected studies—Full Moon Studies and Cloud Studies—both investigating the symbolic and atmospheric transformations that shape our perception of space and time.

Working with oil paints on small postcard-sized paper, Dema abstracts the infinite, containing the vastness of the sky within an intimate format. The moon, clouds, and shifting light become metaphors for impermanence, transformation, and the ethereal space in which we exist. Through these works, the Sky Series reflects on the sky not just as a visual expanse but as a threshold between the seen and unseen, the tangible and the transient.
