CELEBRATION, paintings by Karolina Dema & Virgile Demo

We’re thrilled to announce CELEBRATION, our first painting duo show, this coming 5-6-7th April 2023. An exhibition 3 years in the making, CELEBRATION will show work originally made for our Fine Art Painting Degree Show, as well as paintings made since.

For the first time, CELEBRATION brings together paintings by Karolina Dema & Virgile Demo side by side, as originally intended in our Degree Show that was cancelled due to the pandemic. This includes oil paintings on canvas, wood panels and found material, as well as a selection of drawings and collages.

An hommage to a show that could’ve been, CELEBRATION refers to the end of a cycle as much as the start of a new one - a celebration of our achievements and our perseverance in the face of adversity. The title also refers to the themes explored in our work, from the artists who’ve inspired us, to our love of fashion, wildlife and politics.

This exhibition is also an opportunity for us to show work done during the Drawing Sesh, the online art workshops we’ve been conducting every month since 2020.

For 3 special evenings, we’ll be opening the doors of our Brussels studio. Come celebrate with us this coming April, we’re very excited to finally be able to show you our paintings.
