House in the South of France
A 100 x 140 cm collage drawing for a collector’s home in the South-East of France. The work explores the relation between inside and outside, nature and shelter, in response to the drawing’s location in the house. It also echoes Virgile Demo’s childhood in South-East Asia, where he grew up surrounded by luxuriant vegetation.
For this collaboration, Demo Dema used bright coloured inks to bring the drawing to life. The result, a combination of cut out and expressive drawing in the tradition of action painting, brings Demo Dema’s work one step closer to set design.
